There is no need to convince anyone that printouts made by means of a non original
inkjet print cartridges or laser toner cartridges are much cheaper.
Depending on the price disparity of originals and their replacements, savings range from 50 to 80% that is rather a lot. Everyone strives for it, those who care about lowering printing costs and who... that is the point. Many of us would end like this: "and who does not care about its quality". That is a myth proliferated by printers manufacturers. They are always guided by a very simple economic principle governing this market: there is more earning on exploitation materials than on the printers, thus they discourage people from fake cartridges
as much as they can.
Collective responsibility
Their opinion confirms that many printer users have bad experience with replacement ink cartridges indeed: congested print head, distorted colors, irregular ink distribution and in the case of laser printers -pale smudges or even strange lines on printouts. Such things really happens but we should not resign from replacement ink cartridges once and for all.
Lack of clear and unambiguous norms (which should be determined by printer manufacturers)cause the appearance of many fakes of inkjet print cartridges on our market that have nothing do with the quality. However, ther is the other side of the coin-independent companies that care about their client’s interest and conduct their own development researches in such a way as to perfectly adjust their offer to the newest models of printers that appear on the market. It is really worthy to purchase their products because apart from clearly cheaper printing costs they offer the quality which is comparable only to originals and sometimes it is even greater.
What do tests really tell us
The market offer is so enormous that no-one is capable to examine all replacement inkjet cartridges for all printer models. However, we have conducted some tests of a pretty large number of replacement cartridges for popular Canon, Epson, HP and Lexmark inkjet models as well as for monochromatic HP lasers series 101x and 102x. A short summary:
the undisputed winner in a test of five toners (both in respect of costs as well as the print quality) is BlackPoint’s product and not original HP toner cartridge! It was the same in the inkjet printer test: Canon took the 8th place(on 15 sets), Epson took the 3rd place(on 11 sets), Lexmark was fourth(on six sets) and only HP defended its first-place title (on 8 sets), slightly overtaking cheaper competitors.
Change to replacement ink cartridges
Despite the fact that we have examined only a small fragement of a wealthy alternative exploitation materials, and the conclusions are clear.
The quality of printing with the use of replacement ink cartridges may be better than the originals (not mentioning costs). There is only one small problem: one should know what to buy. If we completely do not know some product, let’s use simple verification principles. First and foremost, cheap occasional products look suspicious-it is much safer to choose such a replacement ink cartridge that has relatively high price ( as for alternative materials).
Secondly, presence (or lack) of the adress and contact information for the replacement ink cartridge manufacturer or distributor tells us a lot.
If there is the name and address (or even better a telephone number), it is quite credible.
General results of our tests will also be a good guideline. Some companies, regardless of the test have always been in the lead, thus they are the first to be given a certain vote of confidence. It is worth mentioning in this place at least five: Active Jet, BlackPoint, Ink Spot, Jet Tec, My Color-many other companies also went well in chosen tests but their results were not so regular. |
